Puddle Pond Resources Inc. “the company”, is pleased to provide an update on its precious metals (Gold – Silver) and critical minerals (Zinc – Copper) projects in Newfoundland and its corporate activities. The company has succeeded in maintaining a diverse portfolio of five (5) mineral resource projects which include the high potential, drill advanced Handcamp, Lake Bond and Heritage Projects. Project details may also be viewed on our website. The company also holds a strategic and important royalty interest in the Ming Mine Project Area operated by FireFly Metals (ASX: FFM | TSX: FFM).
Handcamp Project: Puddle Pond has drilled 19 holes totaling 1,487.92 metres successfully testing an 850 metre (2800 ft) section of a target defined by geophysics and geochemistry surveys to be at least 2,000 metres (6,550 ft) in length. The drill intersected mineralization from surface to shallow depths down to 100 metres contains economic concentrations of gold, silver, copper, zinc and lead. The project is along the deep crustal fault zone labeled the Red Indian Line within the Buchans-Roberts Arm Belt of Rocks host to the past producing rich Buchans Deposits. This polymetallic mineralization at Handcamp is typical of the Buchans Deposits. Latest surface investigations also confirm copper rich mineralization typical of the adjacent, former Gullbridge Copper Mine.
The project attracted the interest of several companies, and as the result Puddle Pond has signed a 3-year option agreement with Rocky Shore Metals Ltd. (CSE:RSG – OTCQB:RSGLF). Details of the agreement can be viewed on their website at https://www.rockyshoregold.com/.
Heritage Project: The Heritage Project is in the 2nd year of a 3-year option agreement signed on December 6, 2024 with Carmanah Minerals, now Skull Ridge Gold Corp. (CNSX: SKUL). This high potential epithermal gold – silver project in the Avalonian Zone of southern Newfoundland is host to a preliminary resource at the Eagle Zone, 1 of 20 drill targets. Drilling at this zone has intersected significant gold and silver mineralization from surface down to shallow depths of up to 120 metres. Surface trenching and drilling over a 4.5 kms x 5 km area confirms the mineralization is widespread with a total of 20 drill targets outlined to date.
The details of the 3-year option agreement with Skull Ridge, (formerly Carmanah Minerals) are presented on their website at https://skullridge.ca/.
Lake Bond Project: This historical, drill advanced Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) project is in the Buchans-Roberts Arm Belt of Rocks and focused along the deep crustal fault zone labeled the Red Indian Line. This belt is host to the rich deposits at Buchans which produced over $6.2 B of Cu-Zn-Pb-Ag-Au mineralization and is host to other deposits such as the former Gullbridge Copper Mine. Historical VMS drill intersections at Lake Bond reported in 1956 include 3.31% Cu & 2.15% Zn over 4.78 metres in shallow massive sulphides. Historical reserves have been defined by New Jersey Zinc, Consolidated Morrison and Noranda Exploration Ltd. In 1976 a Non-43-101 compliant resource of 1.2 million tons grading 2.12% Zn & 0.31% Cu was reported with estimates ranging up to 4 M tonnes.
A drill program designed by Puddle Pond to upgrade the VMS zinc- copper mineralization has been approved by the NL Department of Energy & Mines. The Lake Bond Project is strategically located with access off the Trans Canada Highway in central Newfoundland and the planned drilling is fully permitted to April 2028.
Calvin’s Landing Project: This gold project is located along the Dover-Terra Nova Fault Zone, an unexplored, regionally extensive fault system, within the Avalon Zone, host to epithermal Au-Ag deposits such as the Hope Brook Mine in southern Newfoundland. This fault zone is one of several major northeast trending structural zones in Newfoundland. Other zones include the Appleton Linear along which New Found Gold’s high grade Queensway Gold Project is situated and the Valentine Lake Fault System, host to the Equinox Gold deposits now being mined as one of the largest gold producers in Canada.
Strategically located with access off the Trans-Canada Highway, exploration at Calvin’s Landing successfully uncovered a drill untested gold zone. Surface stripping at the zone has precisely fixed drill targets which are fully permitted by the NL Dept. of Energy & Mines for drilling.
Carter Brook Project: This project is strategically located in the Valentine Lake Fault System and 35 kms northeast of the Equinox Gold Mine area. Initial surface investigations within the project area facilitated by the road network in this region have identified gold mineralization ranging up to 1.03 g/t gold accompanied by silver up to 5 g/t and base metals mineralization, lead, zinc & copper with a combined grade over 1%.
Availing of the road access in this highly active exploration and mining district the company is carrying out more detailed surveys to determine the extent of the surface mineralization.
Puddle Pond’s 2% Royalty at the FireFly Metals’ Green Bay Copper Gold Project: A key, high value component of Puddle Pond’s mineral assets is its Net Smelter Royalty holdings forming the major land area of FireFly’s Ming Mine Project which is the cornerstone of their regional Green Bay Copper Gold Project. On the attached map base published by FireFly the area of Puddle Pond’s 2% royalty fringing the Ming Deposit and the other past producing deposits making up the former Rambler Massive Sulphide Camp is outlined in blue. The royalty area covers 92.25 km2 and was the largest land position acquired by FireFly in assembling the Ming Mine Project. Surface and airborne surveys by FireFly Metals have defined many untested drill targets outlined in yellow and blue (within the Puddle Pond royalty area) on the attached map.
Further details on the importance of this Puddle Pond royalty may be viewed on the FireFly Metals website at https://fireflymetals.com.au which confirms the Ming Project is emerging as a globally significant copper-gold deposit. FireFly states:
- “Recent FireFly geophysics identified 325 untested targets”, many of which are on the Puddle Pond royalty ground outlined by the yellow and blue blocks.
- “Multiple potential Ming Mine look-alike targets”,
- “Six (6) drill rigs continue to operate underground at the Ming Mine” adding to the “Mineral Resource currently at 50.4Mt @ 2.0% CuEq in the Measured & Indicated (M&I) category and a further 29.3Mt @ 2.5% CuEq in the Inferred category”, and
- “Regional exploration continues with drilling of geophysical targets”
